In our Movement & Music classes the focus is on music, dancing and having fun! Our little boppers will learn beneficial skills such as balance, spatial awareness, self expression, self confidence, imagination, creativity, co-ordination, and rhythm. You will be amazed at how confident the little ones get in no time at all!
Teeny Tappers
A fabulous class that introduces our Teeny Tappers to the world of tap dancing! They will get endless joy out of making sounds with their tap shoes and will learn valuable skills such as rhythm, co-ordination and balance.
Move & Groove
Get moving and grooving at this super energetic and fun class! Move & Groove incorporates a range of warm up exercises to stretch & strengthen the body, a variety of kicks, turns, leaps, dance step progressions and full dance routines. A great class to have fun, keep fit and learn modern dance.
Flexibility & Contemporary Dance
This class incorporates a flowing mixture of stretches that are designed to increase flexibility, open joints and lengthen muscles to enable students to split, leg mount and achieve many more flexible manoeuvres. They will also learn Contemporary Dance – a fusion of classical ballet and jazz dance techniques that explores emotions of dance and uses motion to interpret music and lyrics.
Hip-Hop ‘n’ Funk
This high-energy, popular dance class is offered to girls and boys of all ages and abilities who want to shake, pop and groove! It uses the latest sounds in rap, R&B and pop music together with movements influenced by some of today’s hottest video choreographers. It explores the various styles of funk, hip-hop, popping, locking and much more as well as freestyle movement to give students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style.
Tap ‘n’ Rhythm
Power Up’s Tap ‘n’ Rhythm classes will challenge your feet and co-ordination with tapping concepts inspired by traditional choreography – as seen on Broadway musicals, through to the funky styles of today like the ‘Tap Dogs’! These classes are a great workout, are always fun and guarantee to be very noisy!
Lyrical Ballet
Lyrical Ballet is a beautiful dance form implementing Classical Ballet, Modern and Jazz techniques to express lyrics of songs through movement. In this class you will enjoy learning the techniques of Ballet while developing confidence, physical co-ordination, poise and grace – a flowing, graceful and inspirational dance class.
Mixed Martial Arts
With a self-defence objective, all Power Up MMA members are encouraged to develop their leadership skills, resilience to life’s challenges, respect and confidence. In addition to a high level of proficiency in boxing, submission wrestling and taekwondo, other physical outcomes from MMA include: fitness, functional strength, flexibility, speed and balance. Power Up is affiliated with Contemporary Martial Arts Pty Ltd to conduct regular grading days so students can achieve up to a Black Belt in Mixed Martial Arts.

Dance and Fitness classes are facilitated at Power Up from Monday – Friday between the hours of 3:30pm and 8:30pm, all at one convenient location – 55 Hodgkinson Street. Dance classes are determined by age and once enrolled, students will be grouped accordingly.
